While visiting the Halifax Harbourside Marriott we came across an outdoor restaurant, called Stone’s Throw that was right on the water with a good view – our kind of place. The nachos looked interesting so we ordered them along with a local brew Garrison Tall Ship Amber Ale.
The nachos were unique and very good! They had yellow, red, and green colored chips, bacon, carmelized onions, and white cheddar cheese.
Everything was heated in a wood fire using oak and birch to give them a smokey flavor. Some of the chips were browned by the fire and this added more flavor.
They were served with homemade salsa and a very tasty cilantro sour cream.
I definitely would recommend these nachos if you are a lover of bacon and onions like I am. I would give them a 9 out of 10.
